Independent Writing ④ - You can pull it off!

지난호에 공부한 서론을 기억할 것이다.

서론은 hook sentences 로 시작해서 thesis statements로 끝나는데 hook sentences에서 thesis statements 로 가는 연결을 자연스럽게 처리하도록 노력해야 한다.

다시 한번 강조하지만 서론이 여러분 에세이의 얼굴이므로 채점자, 즉 native speakers를 만족시켜야 한다.

서론은 3줄반에서 4줄반 정도만 쓰면 되므로 군더더기를 빼고 깔끔한 서론을 만드는 연습을 해보자.

writing에서 빠른 시간 내에 원하는 점수가 나오게 하는 가장 확실한 방법이 하나있다.

가장 평범하지만 거의 모든 학생들이 실천하지 않고 지나치는 중요한 포인트다.

그 방법은 의외로 간단하다.

본인이 쓴 에세이를 며칠의 기간을 두고 5번 이상 영영 사전을 보면서 스스로 고쳐보는 것이다.

에세이를 쓴 그 당시는 항상 본인의 에세이가 완벽해보이거나 틀린 것이 잘 보이지 않는다.

그러나 서툴지만 영영사전을 보면서 고쳐보자.

놀랄 만큼 많은 실력이 향상되는 것을 느낄 것이다.

이번 호의 에세이에 서론을 주목해보자.

깔끔하게 자신의 포인트를 잘 표현했다.
