Integrate Essay든 Independent Essay든 간에 여러분이 에세이를 쓸 때는 반드시 지금 쓰고 있는 에세이의 목적이 무엇인지 그리고 채점자가 무엇을 원하는지 인지를 하고 있어야 한다.

그리고 질문의 요지를 반드시 확인하고 에세이를 써나가야 한다.

어떤 경우의 학생들은 에세이를 쓸 때 질문을 잘 이해하지 못해 다른 주제의 에세이를 쓰곤 하는데 감점의 요인이 된다.

또한 요즘 Independent Essay의 주제들이 황당하고 기발한 것이 많이 출제되는 편이어서 평소에 여러 주제나 사회적 문제들에 대해서 시간을 내 생각해보는 것이 바람직하다.

특히 어른들도 평소에 생각하지 못하는 주제가 자주 출제되는 경향이 있으니 주의하자.
