Integrate Essay 의 목적은 수업시간에 교수님의 수업을 듣고 이해하는 능력과 교과서를 읽고 요약할 수 있는가를 알아보기 위한 시험이다.
간단히 말해서 summary test이다.
형식은 independent Essay처럼 서론(1 paragraph)，본론(2 paragraphs) 결론(1 paragraph)으로 200자를 충족시키면 된다.
CBT 시험에서는 SAT와 달리 (SAT는 반드시 주어진 종이의 마지막 줄까지 채워야한다) 글자 수에 구애를 받지 않았다.
즉 글자 수가 좀 모자라더라도 내용만 충실하면 높은 점수 획득이 가능했다.
그러나 iBT는 워낙 에세이 고득점자가 많아지다 보니 최근에 채점자들이 글자 수에 민감하다고 한다.
그러니 반드시 요구되어진 200자를 다 채우도록 하자.
Integrate Essay의 특성상(reading 과 listening 의 예문이 필요하므로) 이 지문에서 쓸 예문은 다양한 토플 책에서 발췌할 것이고 책의 제목을 명시할 것이다.
특정 책이 이 지문에서 언급되었다고 해서 그 책이 반드시 좋은 책이라는 뜻이 아님을 미리 밝혀둔다.
